Illustrations for why things are as they are and the human tendency:
1. We can never compare one kinda pain with another. We often say “that’s nothing; you should listen to what I have gone through”. But I feel sensitivity and level of tolerance varies among people and if one had to bare the pain of another it would have been impossible. To quote an example, if I have fever I consider it to be most dreadful and say any other illness is perhaps bare able but not this fever and if on some other day I have tooth ache then it becomes frightful. We may sometimes find people crying for silly reasons perhaps this may be due the importance people assign to certain aspect will be different. For instance, if someone is ill treated then better treatment will become an expectation for the individual and when a tiny hurtful thing happens tears begin to roll down. Somebody else may give priority to earning money, being social etc and accordingly the emotions attached changes.
2. This may sound silly, but conveys the point, when I was walking my way home, late in an evening I had no torch, the road was dark because of power cut and hence no glowing road lights. Some of the houses by the side of the road had no invertors; where as some other houses had one. So the light escaping from their homes lit my way and I managed to reach where I wanted to. It would have been good if all of us had whatever we wished for. But at least by now it must be evident that all in this world are not equally privileged. Some are rich, some poor and others so so (not just in terms of money). To say in another way, all aren’t rich. But shouldn’t we thank heaven because all aren’t poor; else situation would have been pathetic. Someone has more of something, enables us to borrow and to be lead.
3. At times of great agony, mind begs on whom you have immense faith to show a way out. A few days after which your craving is granted you can see your mind again plotting and asking for more. Then remember, you were blessed with what once you thought was very difficult to cross and greatest gift you could get. Now why anything else and why ask for more.
